One of the most interesting sessions for me was headlined The Edward Snowden Case.
As you can imagine, it covered the topic of US whistleblower, Edward Snowden and how The Guardian newspaper came into having the documents he leaked.
Deputy Editor of The Guardian, Paul Johnson, explained how he was involved and some of the crazy things which the UK government did to try and stop them publishing what Snowden had given them.
It is a truly fascinating story. But how does it relate to radio? Well in addition to Paul, Adrian Feuerbacher from Norddeutsche Rudfunk (NDR) in Hamburg spoke about the investigative journalism project their organisation went through. It linked German universities to research projects for the US government.
